The Moore’s Wall trip was one of the most amazing climbing experiences of my life. Every moment of the experience was enjoyable, and I can’t wait to climb with Ascent Adventure Consultants again. Easily worth the six-hour drive from DC. Great guides and great experience.

Continued to Impress Me…A True Professional

July 7th, 2009 | Posted by: brandon

Brandon is a true professional when it comes to guiding climbs. He’s an excellent teacher, and his problem solving ability is extraordinary. During the first hour of my first outdoor climb, I encountered an obstacle I didn’t think I could overcome. After twenty minutes of attempting to negotiate the obstacle, I shouted, “Brandon? I don’t think I can make it across this gap to scale that overhang the way you just did. How do we get down?” He said, “We can’t get down from there. If you can’t do it that way, let me figure something else out.” He drew from his experience and came up with a creative solution that kept me in the game. He continued to impress me throughout the trip with his patience, encouragement, and skill. I am definitely looking forward to my next climbing experience.

A Great Day at Stone Mountain NC

July 7th, 2009 | Posted by: brandon

I just wanted to let you know that my day at Stone Mountain was pretty freaking awesome. Daniel did a great job of choosing the route to suit my goals AND the weather (the rock was still a little damp in sections, which worked fine on The Great Arch!).  He was also extremely pleasant as well as totally safety-conscious, so it was a really nice, chill day outside in beautiful weather.  If anyone ever asks me, I will definitely recommend you guys, and I’m looking forward to future trips with you!

Moores Wall Climbing Trip May 9, 2009

May 11th, 2009 | Posted by: brandon

We had the priviledge of guiding 2 first time climbers on an amazing day of climbing at Moores Wall on Saturday May 9. The forecast was calling for rain, but we decided to test out our luck, and we’re glad we did because it was a beautiful day.

The objective of the day was to teach Brentley and Michael the basics of belaying, rappelling, and most importantly…climbing! They both had experience climbing in gyms in the past, and were excited to be climbing outdoors. Read the rest of this entry »

Taking this class taught me a lot and confirmed things I had already been in the process of learning. Even though I have much more to learn it allowed me to feel confident, to go with my partner, and climb outside at my current level.
