Table Rock Rock Climbing Testimonial
July 6th, 2009 | Posted by: brandonFrom Katie, Table Rock Climbing Trip participant:
Brandon is a true professional when it comes to guiding climbs. He’s an excellent teacher, and his problem solving ability is extraordinary. I don’t think I can make it across this gap to scale that overhang the way you just did. How do we get down?” Read the rest of this entry »

Protecting the Second When Trad Climbing
May 28th, 2009 | Posted by: brandonThere have been numerous times while out climbing that I have seen a common mistake being made by new (and sometimes not so new!) lead climbers. Often, when trad climbing, the leader’s focus is only on where they can get good protection in so they can be safe, and they forget that they need to keep their second’s (the person belaying / following) safety in mind as well. He has been escaping into the wilderness for as long as he can remember, hiking and backpacking in Southern Missouri and Arkansas. He is looking forward to doing more alpine and alpine rock climbing. One thing he truly enjoys is getting new people introduced to climbing and seeing them improve.

I personally think that if all the climbers who read this, pay careful attention to their practices this summer, they will not only leave the climbing area and areas clean, but will make it that much more enjoyable for all the other people that come to the area as well.
